Are you planning your first visit to Tokyo for September 2017?

Are you concerned about arriving in September, since you’ve read its typhoon season for Tokyo? Wondering if you should visit at another time of the year? If you are visiting Tokyo in September you will not face any special problems. Yes, you may experience a little seasonal rain and wind, but the rainfall tends to clear the air and makes everything feel less stuffy. So the rain is not necessarily a bad thing. Temperatures in September in Tokyo are overall better than during the summer.

So to summarize – Don’t worry about typhoons. On the rare occasions that they do hit Tokyo, you will experience strong wind and rain, but no real damage; the next day weather is usually bright and clear.

The former Japanese capital of Kamakura, located some 70 minutes from Tokyo by train, will hold the annual festival at the iconic Hachimangu Shrine from September 14th to 16th.

The festival will play host to the same style of yabusame that graces Sumida Park.
The picturesque country settings of Kamakura make for fine rikshaw rides in the late-summer sun, while traditional Japanese goods and foods may be purchased in the famous Komachi dori shopping street.

Rich in religious heritage with temples galore, and close to the island bliss of Enoshima, Kamakura represents Japanese culture at its most pure.
